Sunday School is offered at 10:00 a.m. for ages 4 to 12 during the public school year. Jill Malloy, who has taught Sunday School nearly 40 years, and assistant Rob Freeman teach substantive, Bible-centered lessons. Classes have covered such topics as Our Lord's parables, biblical persons, the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes—and are all designed to make learning fun. The children also work on a craft related to the lesson.
Before the lesson the children receive a welcoming message from the rector in the nave; and at the Eucharist the children return to the nave to be communed or to receive a blessing.
In summer when Sunday School does not meet, there are even field trips!
Note: This summer on July 11, 18, 25 and August 1, "Tuesdays with God's Buddies" will meet in the parish hall from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for children ages 5 to 10. The get-togethers will include a light supper, a Bible lesson, songs, games and crafts. Regular Sunday School teachers Jill and Rob (see above) will guide the activities and be helped by other adult volunteers. For further information and to sign up your child for this no-cost opportunity, email the parish at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The children meet with Fr. Tom before their Sunday School lesson.
